Japanese quince, Chaenomeles is a low thorny shrub up to 1 m high. It blooms with the appearance of leaves for 2-3 weeks. The shrub is very decorative, both during flowering and during fruiting. It grows well in any soil.

In spring, it blooms beautifully with red or orange flowers, and in autumn, edible, aromatic golden fruits with a sour taste ripen on it. Ripen in September-October. The content of vitamin C in fruits is higher than in lemon.

It is best to plant chaenomeles in a sunny location. In the shade, the flowering is less abundant. Chaenomeles is a frost-resistant and drought-resistant shrub. But in a drought, it needs watering. Any garden soil is suitable.
