Caryopteris is a deciduous, low shrub 1-1.2 m high with fragrant leaves. It blooms with fluffy inflorescences of small blue flowers. There is a variety with yellow leaves on sale. The combination of yellow and blue looks very impressive. It blooms at the end of the season in September, when most of the perennials have already faded.
Any garden soil and sunny area is suitable. In early spring, the shoots are cut at a height of 5-10 cm from the ground. The plant is winter hardy. When freezing in winter, it grows easily from the roots. Shelter for the winter is not required.
