Camassia is a bulbous plant with erect peduncles and numerous flowers - stars of different blue shades, collected in spike-shaped inflorescences. There is a variety with white flowers. Camassia blooms in June-July, the height of the peduncles is 75-100 cm. It grows on any soil in the sun or in light partial shade.
The plant is not often found in summer cottages, but it is very decorative. In sunny places and rather dry soils, Camassia quickly runs wild and multiplies by self-sowing.
