Dicentra, "broken heart" is a perennial rhizome plant. Arched peduncles 60-100 cm high rise above the delicate openwork carved leaves. Flowers of bright pink, white or red color resemble a heart pierced by an arrow. Thanks to this, the dicenter received the second name "broken heart."

Dicenter blooms in May for 30-50 days. There is a border variety of dicentra with a height of 20-30 cm with pink or white flowers. The plant prefers shady places, but it can grow in the sun. Dicenter roots growing in a sunny place, it is advisable to mulch, water in drought. In the second half of summer, the leaves of the dicenter dry up and the plant loses its attractiveness. Prefers light nutritious soil, hibernates without shelter.
