Cylindrical imperata is a very bright ornamental grass up to 50-70 cm high. Its thin oblong stems turn red gradually throughout the season. The red color first flames at the top of the shoot and gradually the entire shoot to the root becomes bright like a flame.
In September, the tip of the shoot turns dark red. Looks very impressive against the background of other taller grasses and with green leaves. For the winter, the root impera should be sprinkled with earth 2-3 cm. The plant is drought-resistant. Grows well on any garden soil.
