Penstemon is a perennial herb. On a peduncle 60 cm high in June-July, clusters of small flowers, similar to bells, red and white, appear. There are two varieties of border plants with a height of 30-40 cm with dark purple and lilac-white flowers.
Penstemons bloom for a month. All garden forms of penstemon are zoned and winter well. They grow only in a sunny place. In drought, watering is necessary. They prefer loose, well-drained soil.
