Physocarpos - viburnum-deciduous shrub up to 3 m tall with yellow and purple large leaves, similar to the leaves of viburnum. Blooms in "caps" of white or pink thyroid flowers up to 1-2 cm in diameter. In autumn, fruits are formed in their place. Brown - on the yellow-leaved Physocarpos "luteus", and on the purple "diabolo" dark maroon.
Any well-drained garden soil is suitable in the sun or in partial shade. The plant is drought-resistant and frost-resistant. After flowering, a third of the old faded shoots are cut out at the root. The joint planting of luteus and diabolo Physocarpos and tall evergreen conifers looks very impressive.
