Sedge, Karex is an ornamental herb 30 cm high. It grows in a dense hummock. Long narrow leaves rise up from the center of the curtain, and their ends fall down to the very roots. Sedge looks like a small fountain. There is a sort of "karex milk chocolate" with copper-colored leaves.
There is a variety with green narrow leaves and a variety with wide leaves with a white border. All sedges bloom in spike-like inflorescences at the end of May. The leaves of sedges are overwintering. The plant grows well in the sun, but partial shade is also suitable. The soil needs to be well-drained, moderately moist. The plant is winter hardy.
